Squirrel has been created by Kate Cross, Director of The Egg at the Theatre Royal Bath, and Tim Bell, Senior Producer at Complicité and former Creative Producer at The Egg, with the help of the 'Squirrels' Pre-Schoolers and their teachers from The Paragon School, Bath.Īudiences will see either Caroline Garland or Oliver Langdon in Squirrel, who between them perform across the run of 72 shows. Recommended for children aged 6 months to 4 years, The Egg’s early years Christmas show is a story of new growth, with a sprinkling of snowy magic and puppetry mayhem. It’s easy to remember where it’s under the third tree from the left, or was it the right? Oh hang on a minute… Under the light of the winter sun, between the houses and the offices, and the rivers and the factories, Squirrel has buried their favourite acorn collection. Some are downright second rate and Squirrel is fussy like that. The Guardian’s Chris Wiegand described it as “supremely welcoming and warm-hearted” and “an irresistible treat for under-fives” in his five star review. This beautifully engaging show for the youngest theatregoers delighted audiences and critics alike when it first premiered at The Egg in 2019. The Egg’s hugely popular production of Squirrel is back in Bath from Saturday 27th November to Friday 24th December, with performances appearing daily from Tuesday to Sunday at 9.30am, 11.30am and 1.30pm.
